Booking & Payment

A MasterCard or Visa card that has a valid expiry date for the booking date will be required for a reservation.

We accept Visa or MasterCard, debit, cash or e-transfer as final payment on check-out, whichever would be easier for you. There is a BMO located just down the street from us if needed.

Check-in & Check-out

If you’d like an introduction on arrival, we offer in person check-ins from 3:00 – 5:00 pm only.  Guests will be provided with self check-in instructions prior to their stay to accommodate arrivals after 5:00 pm. If you’re arriving late in the evening, please be mindful noise so you don’t to disturb the other guests. We try to accommodate early check-in requests, however we are a two-person cleaning team and sometimes this can be a challenge!

Check-out is at 10 am. Please respect this timing as we’re a small operation and need this time to ensure the cleanliness of our guest rooms.

Cancellations

Please notify us as early as possible if you wish to cancel your booking.  If a cancellation occurs within 14 days of your arrival, or there is a no-show, the full amount of your reservation will be charged to the credit card provided upon making your reservation with us. For groups reserving three or more rooms, we have a 30 day cancellation policy.  As we have a two night minimum stay, if you should cancel one of your evenings of a two night booking with us, unfortunately we will need to cancel your entire reservation.

As we have no control over weather conditions, family illnesses, guest illness, ferry or flight cancellation or delays, our cancellation policy will also take effect for these conditions.  We suggest all guests purchase travel insurance for potential unforeseen circumstances.

Adults Only

The Candlelight Inn is adults only and no one under the age of 19 will be allowed to stay with us, no exceptions. We allow no more than two guests per room.

Quiet Hours

After 10pm we ask that you please be respectful of other guests and try to keep noise to a minimal level.

Smoking

Smoking (or vaping) is not allowed anywhere inside the house. There is a container for your cigarette butts along with a bench on the side of the garage that is covered by the roof line.  It has a great view of the ocean.   We do ask that you don’t flick your butts on the driveway or on the grass.

Pets

The Candlelight Inn does not allow animals. If a guest turns up on arrival day with an animal, you will be turned away and your booking will be treated as a cancellation (see above). We will consider exceptions for service/support animals (with documentation provided). We do have a dog of our own on site but he stays within the owner’s quarters.

Damages

The Candlelight Inn reserves the right to charge for avoidable damage to rooms. You will be charged for excessively soiled or oil stained linen or damaged towels due to make-up, self tanning, peroxide based skin cleanser stains or hair dye. Also you will be charged the full daily rate as listed elsewhere on this site if a room is put out of use through unreasonable or avoidable damage along with a cleaning fee (to be determined by owners).

Housekeeping

Due to privacy and capacity reasons, we do not offer daily housekeeping. We are happy to provide you with fresh towels, a new garbage bag, or anything else you might require – just let us know.

Cooking

We do not allow cooking of any type by guests on our property for insurance reasons.

While we’re unable to provide our kitchen area to eat any type of shellfish due to potential allergies of other guests, we do have picnic tables in the yard overlooking the ocean and we would be happy to provide all necessary gear to eat your lobster.
